Management vs. Modeling Agencies.

A modeling agency is a tool for the mass recruitment of diverse profiles, promoting their presentation to clients when a casting call arrives. Therefore, before joining and finalizing agreements with an agency of this caliber, it is recommended to evaluate whether the agency has a sufficient number of potential clients to meet the demand of the number of models awaiting their opportunity, and above all, whether it is competitive with other agencies of the same or higher level. Along these same lines, we must consider that the model will not only have to compete with other young women within the same agency but also with the vast universe of models represented by the numerous agencies in the surrounding area. This significantly reduces the probability of success, and the final result for a young, novice model is often disappointing.

Among the most significant drawbacks of a traditional modeling agency, we must first and foremost place the complete lack of guaranteed work, the 50% commission, and the deduction of flight costs at the end of the contract—even if no earnings have been made—not to mention the lack of attention, dedication, and, of course, the zero investment in the model. In short, we can confidently say that a model’s earnings under this system would barely cover the cost of flights.

Another negative factor in the global agency system is the strict exclusivity that binds models to a potential opportunity, given the aforementioned adverse circumstances. This current reality, unlike the golden age of traditional modeling agencies before the rise of social media (high competition and demands), severely impacts productivity, reach, response rates, and the effective fulfillment of demand, especially considering the decline of the fashion industry and its relegation, along with fashion magazines, due to the rise of social media platforms. Another phenomenon that has contributed to the fatal decline of agencies is the undeniable trend of image events, which are at the top of the preference among young women linked to the industry, precisely because of the fall of the fashion industry in general, impacting the financial and professional aspect.

As a counterproposal, the management approach offers a range of options, services, tools, and resources that translate into short-, medium-, and long-term benefits depending on the model’s adaptability and her time of integration. Analysis, development, training, and planning; a project conceived and designed exclusively for each individual profile, considering their needs and interests, which will be addressed through a customized, phased action plan.

We don’t believe in modeling courses as a springboard to success, nor do we trust agency management.
